La'arni Ayuma descends from a family of traditional Filipina/o healers. She integrates the ancient healing arts with other somatic/energy healing techniques to promote well-being in her communities. As a queer holistic practitioner, she facilitates spaces that encourage transformational shifts, conscious of culture and traditional practices and is rooted in spiritual integrity, empowering community members in their self-care, healing and transformation.
Ayuma intuitively draws from the Hilot medicine and bodywork from her lineage, deep listening to spiritual teachers and elder artists, sacred connection with nature, and her lived experience as an immigrant and settler. She is also a mother and student to a 24 year old musician, an 11 year old artist and a 6 year old warrior healer.
Ayuma collaborates with other practitioners to hold sacred space for sharing stories and knowledge of our ancestors. Storytelling is the medicine of remembering and allows our communities to connect deeper with ancestral wisdom.
As an artist, she shares meditative dance movements as part of her prayer offering. She believes that art is in the ritual, through the guidance of spiritual elders and the participation/gathering of a community. As she is in a constant state of learning and deep listening. This allows her insight into the past, present and future healing happening all at once.
